Sometimes I think we can be so caught up in the busyness of life that we truly lose sight of what matters. We forget why we are here, we forget how blessed we are to take another breath of life, and we forget what our focus should be today and every day.
Today I was looking through 2 Timothy 2, and came upon verse 22, “Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. “
How often do we call on the Lord from a pure heart? I would say most of the time our hearts are not pure, our motives are wavering, and our thoughts are elsewhere.
Stop your day for a moment, consider the fact that God wants intimate and real communion with you today, and He doesn’t want the distracted side of you, He wants the pure and real side of you. Don’t be afraid to meet him in a place where you are vulnerable, don’t be afraid to call for help. He is waiting for that chance with you, He is waiting to meet you right in that place.
Here is another excerpt from Sarah Young’s book, Jesus Calling:
“You will find that you can accomplish more in less time, after you have given yourself to Me in rich communion. Also, as you align yourself with My perspective, you can sort out what is important and what is not.”
Challenge to You:
Make time today to have a moment of appreciate for the Lord, and to share your heart with him. He will listen, He will guide you, and will give you the strength to prioritize your day according to His heart and His will.
